The Historic Federal Hill building is more than just a place to stay—it is part of a larger story that bridges Providence’s city heritage with the countryside roots of Crazy Hart.
The name “Crazy Hart” originates from the sister property located in Foster, Rhode Island, home to a sprawling winery and farm experience. The name itself is inspired by a book written by Thomas Cobb, former owner of the original farmland that now forms the foundation of the winery.
What began as a rural hospitality vision evolved into a broader mission: creating spaces that connect people to place, history, and experience—whether in the countryside or the heart of the city.
Originally envisioned as an extension of the winery experience, 108 Spruce Street was intended to bring a tasting room concept into Providence’s Federal Hill neighborhood.
In 2023, a fire damaged approximately 70% of the building. Rather than abandon the vision, the property was carefully reimagined and fully restored into a boutique condo-hotel.
Today, the property blends historic character with modern design, offering guests a warm, comfortable stay in one of Providence’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
Original architectural details were preserved where possible, while interiors were rebuilt to create functional, stylish, and welcoming spaces for short and extended stays.
The evolution continues with plans to introduce a spa experience on the first floor, expected to open mid-summer 2026, further expanding the property into a full boutique hospitality destination.
